The Lord keeps showing me two seemingly unrelated verses that He’s had in His heart for you.
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”
1 Corinthians 13:12
The word used in this verse for mirror in the Greek is “esoptron”, according to Strong’s Concordance. As I read about this word in Strong’s, this piece was highlighted to me:
“Ancient mirrors (merely made of polished metal) only produced an indistinct image (reflection). So, to get an accurate picture (reflection) the viewer had to look from several different angles”
As I pondered this, I happened to see printed on an ad nearby “20/20 experience”. I began to see God connecting the two.
Things have been for you like a mirror. A reverse image of what you’ve expected. Or maybe dim and indistinct. God is saying that to get an accurate picture of what is happening in all of its spiritual fullness, you will have to see from SEVERAL ANGLES. While your vision may not match that of your All-seeing Heavenly Father, God is calling you into the 20/20 experience. To experience something is “feel, participate in, or taste”. How interesting that even in the details we can’t yet see, God is inviting us to FEEL and TASTE in order to “see clearer”. You may have Holy Spirit unctions that don’t match what you “see” in the natural. If God and His word are confirming these, they may be more real than your sight. You may be experiencing tragedy, yet somehow you just feel like you taste His sweetness. This is more real than your sight.
The reason for this is there are pieces you cannot see. There are beautiful pieces to the puzzle of your plan and calling that are out of view. It’s time to change how you’re viewing your circumstances, and get some new angles. As you surrender to the one who fully knows you- even without “seeing more”- you will know more fully.
I then got an image of a Rorschach test. These were the famous psychological tests in which individuals would be given a blob of meaninglessly shaped ink and asked “what do you see?”. I saw a Rorschach test that was your life right now in a snapshot. God is asking you the same thing. “What do you see?”. Then I heard Him inviting you to ask Him the same. God is inviting you to ask HIM, “What do You see?”. The test’s intention was to illuminate thought processes and tendencies. In the same way, God is illuminating tendencies in your thinking and interpretation of things. He is also showing you His. By adopting His thought processes and tendencies, you will find a whole new interpretation for what you’re seeing in your life.
The second verse God has been showing me is this:
“When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.””
God has been heavily impressing on me to share that NOTHING WILL BE WASTED. During the fishes and loaves miracle from which this verse comes, God knew how many people needed to be fed. Unlike us, He knew exactly how much each would eat too. It wasn’t a safe guess. His math was exact. So why were there leftovers?
The answer is there weren’t. He instructed what was left to be collected SO IT WOUDLN’T BE WASTED. There are some who have experienced a loss, set back, or even just a change of direction. Others may even feel that their day to day activities are just wasted time. God is instructing you right now to gather what you think are “leftovers” SO THAT nothing will be wasted. He intends to use every bit of your life and experience, if you won’t write it off. Gather up what you feel are your wasted pieces. Give them to Him, and see what “hungers” in the world He plans to “feed” with them!
