Recently the church we’re blessed to be a part of was part of a multi-church collaborative effort to pay off massive amounts of medical debt for surrounding counties. As I sat in church I got chills as my pastor spoke the words “they should be finding out this month that their debt has been paid”. What a thought! That the beneficiaries of this blessing still had no idea while it was happening that their million dollars of medical debt had been relieved. The letter was still in the mail. The blessing was already worked out, but the news hadn’t yet reached them.
Then listening to a testimony of healing I was struck again by the message this woman spoke. Though it wasn’t instantaneous the first time she prayed, the healing she desired and prayed for came nonetheless. Had she given up, she wouldn’t have known her healing was on the way. Daniel was in a bad spot in chapter 10. It says in verses 8 and 9: “So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless. Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.” Do you feel left without strength? Do you feel helpless? Are you giving up or spiritually drifting off to sleep? God has put it on my heart that if this is you, DON’T GIVE UP. HELP IS ON THE WAY. Daniel did not know that the second he had prayed an answer had been dispatched, but we read in verses 12-14: “Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come.” Right this minute God has blessings around the corner that you have no idea about yet. Don’t become weary in the waiting. An answer has already been released. Things are already in the works. Just because you have not yet seen or comprehended what God is doing in your situation does not mean He is not doing or that it is not done. Surely those at the tomb of Jesus felt the same way. Where was the answer to their prayers? It was on the way. It was finished. They just hadn’t received word yet. Those in a hopeless place, take comfort in that God is working in your situation. You may not be able to foresee His answer or His timing, but take comfort that there IS an answer and there IS an appointed time.
