Dark Before the Leap

This week my son brings home a picture of foxes he drew at school. Last night over dinner foxes are brought up in a story. My phone dings with a text from a friend with a fox in the snow. God had been getting my attention in little ways about this for more than a week. I had been watching the news of New York's law unfold recently and was struck by what was BEHIND a seemingly dark story. In Biblical times, legislation was passed that allowed (even commanded for) babies to be TARGETED. We see this when Moses was born. We also see it when Jesus is little. So looking at these times, let's find common threads that show what is happening for us now: For Moses- the target- this time catapulted him into the palace. Not only did the enemy fail, but he perfectly positioned Moses in the training and power he would need to bring DELIVERENCE. Such is what is happening both in the spiritual for all of us and in the natural for this new generation. For you, what has been targeted is not only being saved but you are being positioned and equipped to bring a greater level of deliverence. Also, this new generation being birthed now will bring with them successfully something to cause a great advancing of God's people. On January 22 (1/22), New York passed it's expanded abortion laws. No coincidence that Exodus 1:22 reads: "Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: “Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” In the second chapter of Matthew, we learn Herod had issued a similar decree to Pharoah in verse 16: "When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi." Again, in this instance what is targeted fails to be taken out. And in fact the movement associated with this attack moves Jesus into place to fulfill the prophecies about Him being a Nazarene! For you, what the enemy has been targeting will not be taken. But these attacks will actually move you into place to fulfill the prophecies God has ordained for you! Because 122 had been highlighted to me in the first story, I took notice of the reverse in this story. If 122 was the attack, God flips it in 221 to become the salvation. Matthew 2:21 reads (after God warns Joseph in a dream) "So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel." Safety. Alignment with prophecy. THERE IS A "SO" ABOUT TO BE LAUNCHED. An attack may have been decreed by the enemy, but God always has a more powerful "so" that turns it into a promotion. As I pondered the foxes this week, suddenly the connection hit me. I had written last fall about the hunting method of foxes. "Like a guided missile, the fox harnesses the earth's magnetic field to hunt...According to "New Scientist", the fox can see the earth's magnetic field as a "ring of shadow" on its eyes that darkens as it heads towards magnetic north. When the shadow and the sound the prey is making line up, it's time to pounce." You may be seeing a lot of darkness. You may even feel a bit like you haven't had clear spiritual vision recently as you've followed His voice. The word for us here is to keep going. The enclosing darkness is not a bad sign...it's the dark before the pounce. God is about to launch His counterattack like a fox honing in on it's target. Watch especially later this month (around 2/21) for God to be revealing in your time with Him what His "so" is for you. His path to promotion and alignment amidst the targeting is coming!
