Even in the heart of winter I still catch a flower sometimes popping its stubborn head up through the dried dormant grass. Yesterday a dandelion caught my eye. As I remembered my husband and I's weeding process at our house last spring, this word was whispered in my heart. I feel like it should be shared with you, beloved... "I am rooting for you. I AM is rooting for you. This is not the casual support that is detached and far off as you struggle through this tough winter. I am actually ROOTING for you. I am using the roots I have placed deep in your heart that have rooted and grounded you in love, rooted and grounded you in your identity, rooted and grounded you in your calling, and rooted and grounded you in acceptance, and I am fortifying those roots. Storms blow and may tear at your petals, but you will stay rooted. The enemy may come to chop at your stems, but you will stay rooted. Where there are roots there is always the promise of regrowth. All that is of me will stay firm. All that needs to go will be uprooted. I am rooting for you. Rest in that security." Any gardeners know that as you weed if you do not remove the full root system the thistle or dandelion comes springing right back up after the next rain. It may appear to be annihilated, but it's roots are firm just waiting to regrow. Sink your roots deep in His love and His word, and even in times you feel annihilated, you will only continue to flourish! "For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail." Job 14:7-9 "But He answered and said, 'Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.'" Matthew 15:13 "So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ," Ephesians 3:17-18
