How You Read the Map

"The LORD says, 'I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you'." Psalm 32:8 God guides us along the paths of our destiny. He gives us maps of His written and spoken words. Sometimes it goes through thick jungles or high mountains where the path is harder to find and follow. When I'm following directions and begin to think I've lost the trail, I circle back to the last place I knew I was on the trail. God spoke to me this morning saying "Stop pressing rewind. You keep circling back to your former wilderness when you were on the path! You are questioning what shouldn't be questioned. Remember WHO YOU ARE and you will know the way to go". We each have our designed self and a false self. The designed self is who God envisioned us to be, how He inherently made us. We cannot change that even if we don't believe in it. This person has all the power and equipping to even do the seemingly impossible and miraculous feats He calls you to. The false self is who the enemy has worked all your life to convince you that you are. It is all a LIE. It's a voice that says "someone else could do that, but I can't", "I'm too (fill in the blank", or "I'm not (fill in the blank) enough". It centers on lack and weakness and staying in your comfort zone. How we follow God's map for our life depends on who we believe we are! Our identity is the key to the map. On a map the key gives meaning- it translates what things mean. That's what our identity does for us. So pick that map back up. Even though you think you don't know where to go. Even though you think you've tried each door or lost the trail. When you get down on yourself, you get down on God. Stop rewinding with fear and ask God to remind you who you are. It is the key!
