Your Brokenness Will Become a Blessing

“In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” 2 Timothy 2:20-21 In a sermon last week our pastor said we were never made to be filled with God's love and have it stay there. We were made, instead, to be conduits of God's love. Immediately I have a vision of a clay jar on a shelf with a crack down the side and a large hole at the bottom. This brilliant blue water was being poured into it from the top, and it flowed straight through the hole at the bottom. As I looked down, the water flowing out of the vessel was not just going on to the floor to be wasted but was splashing into countless other vessels. I thought immediately for some reason of 2 Timothy 2:20-21. “What is a common purpose for a vessel?”, I felt Him ask. “To be filled”, I thought. “And what you see, a special purpose, is to be broken”, said the Lord. Many times things in the supernatural are the opposite of how things are in the natural. In the natural, when something breaks we naturally think it unusable or try to fix it. In the supernatural, when someone is broken by something he or she goes through, it creates a special place. It makes that person, in heaven's eyes, even more valuable than before because now whatever is poured into them can flow out of those broken places to others. I see for those who have suffered sickness, the ability to flow healing into the lives of others. For those who have suffered heartbreak, the ability to flow hope into others. For those who have been lost, the ability to be a guide post to find others who are still lost. The Lord clearly spoke saying “Your brokenness will become a blessing. Not only just to you as you watch My supernatural ways of healing that broken place and bringing beauty from ashes, but also to others as they begin to be filled by the precious flow of wisdom and authority that have been poured into you from walking through that crushing time. Nothing is wasted. There is nothing I cannot redeem. Just as those wounded in battle receive the honor of the Purple Heart, those wounded on the battlefield of life who still fight for Me will receive special honor and become vessels of special purpose!” “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5B
