Maybe this is for you today: "I did not conspire to break your heart. I did not bait you along a path with false hope only to let you down gently in the name of 'what's good for you'." God is speaking to three specific groups of people now. Maybe you, like me, have been or are all of these groups at some time or another. If part of this speaks to you, ask God for confirmation! The first group are those who have faithfully chased His promises and have ended up in what feels like a dead end or have been let down. "I have not promised that the world would treat you kindly. It did not treat My prophets or even My Son kindly". Throughout the Word are examples of kings that did not follow God's will and spurned His heart and purposes. When you love someone and they betray you, when others don't keep their promises, when you plant the seed and it is rejected. "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:40. Maybe it's not a person that you're feeling betrayed by but the path itself. You have not gone where you expected. But you're also not at the end of that path. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD (Isaiah 55:8). Keep walking. You haven't seen the end of the path. You may not be able to see how it could turn out, but it WILL turn out if you keep pressing in. "Whatever wreckage the enemy has assailed your heart with, he is doing to Me. I hear your cause. I ALWAYS promise to restore to you all that has been lost and MORE. I fight with a righteous anger against all that comes against you, and no matter what comes, I WILL NEVER STOP FIGHTING FOR YOU UNTIL YOUR WAY IS CLEAR. Do not feel that since you have not arrived or since you've encountered unexpected disappointments that you have done something wrong. I do not work off a works-based law. Your present place is not a result of your disobedience but in fact is a result of your obidience. You are sharing in my suffering in chasing these callings, and surely you also will share in my JOY. The pain that you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that's coming (Romans 8:18". The second group are those who are waiting for God to "cash out" to them before they sell out to God. They have heard the call. They want to seek God's promises and step out in faith, but FIRST they are needing to see God open up the way. They are weighing if the leap of faith is worth it or is safe. God says, "My dearly loved one, I gave My LIFE for you. Meet me in the middle. Lay down your worries about your life and your path and just follow Me. Go BEFORE you see the path opening, trusting I will meet you there. For 'faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not SEE' (Hebrews 11:1). I am giving you all of Me. I just need you to meet Me there in faith!" The third group are those who faithfully walk after God's callings but then get turned around by old ways. Then they catch themselves, correct course again, and follow His promises. "Like my precious people wandering in the wilderness, you are moving in circles. No wonder you feel so stuck! You step out a little, and discouragement pulls you back like a tide. I have BROKEN every chain. Including those of your past. Do not let them hold you down anymore! Move forward in a new way! 'But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead' (Philippians 3:13). I have been beckoning you this whole time, and your faithful ears have heard my call! What you have perceived as Me not coming through are the times that you have wandered in circles. Ask me for new strategies. Let go of your preconceived notions. Forget yesterday, for today your life is changed!"
